Spunk brothers expectations
I am sure they made it clear their expectations for Pelligrini were top 8 minimum? If it wasn’t stated it was heavily suggested.
Of course it’s still very achievable but considering the run of games ahead it would be more than an effort now. Surely that alone suggest they are looking to change asap?
In terms of our expectations do we always expect to much? I see cries & moans when we are linked with an average player who then goes on to do a great job at a ‘smaller’ club.
Irrespective of attendance and spending we have acheieved F all in nearly 4 decades!Maybe it’s time we abandon this next level attitude and go back to players who first and foremost work hard as the majority of talented players we have had over the years drift in and out and do us very little good long term.

Moving into a municipal athletics stadium rarely if ever turns out well.

Which is why clubs all over Europe are tearing them up and building new ones.

They have realized

Football for Football

Athletics for Athletics

I had my doubts and sadly they have come to pass

Yeah Lilly, no one wanted to move....

To be fair, with stuff like that you could (and most probably did) have thousands of mugs like Gavros, who had never even been to The Boleyn Ground, stating they're over the moon about the move.

Oh and it's all in CS's link he shoved up... only 5 (FIVE) % were against the move....

Re: Spunk brothers expectations
Oh yeah plenty of them planks Lily that thought we would only sign `player A` as he would sign because of us playing at the Olympic shit hole... if we would have stayed at wonky old UP `player A` would have NEVER have joined.

You can also add `Spurs moving in on our manor' so we have to stop them by selling UP and moving to Stratford...

Along with the old' `UP is wonky' `Too many saris and Turbans down Green Street' `the place smells' oh and `I queue up for an hour at Upton Park station after every game'...

Oh and `DEAL OF THE CENTURY' we got it for nothing... HA HA HA UP YOURS SPURS/ARSENAL/CFC/WALL...

They were far more prelevant on Gavvy's render thread than we are gonna win the EPL and the Champs League .. next level bollocks...

We made our bed...

Re: Spunk brothers expectations
I reiterate, almost nobody supported the move simply to have larger attendances.

The majority who supported the move did so with the assumption, based on GSB’s rhetoric, that we would move up a level financially and competitively.

If they didn't put a performance related clause in his contract, then they thicker than we already know they are.

If we continue with the useless clown in goal against ski (and beyond) we will be bottom of the table by Christmas. Currently there are not three teams worse than us in the premiership and as well as gifting goals to the opposition the idiot is spreading despondency throughout the whole team. It must ne nerve racking to think that every time our opponents get near the box there is a good chance they will score!

Lily... that's rubbish... there was PLENTY who wanted to move out of our `shit hole` `lop sided` `in a run down ethnic area` `shit transport links' stadium... bring up Gavvy's `renders' thread.. 1000's on there...

Re: Spunk brothers expectations
It’s gone beyond expectations, because once they sold our home and heritage it’s now a case of obligations. They are now obliged to move us to the illustrious next level, because nobody was up for selling our home simply to have more spectators watch us (with binoculars), underachieve in a sterile soulless stadium we don’t even own.

We should maybe take the same route as dare i say it Sheffield United under Chris Wilder rather than think we can compete for the foreign mercenrys with the bigger and better clubs.

Sheffield United have built a squad of British players bar a couple of imports, and quite few are local lads who support the club, no big names, no big money spent, all are either home grown of cherry picked from the lower leagues, there currently 6th and looking like they can hold that comfortably.

All play there hearts out and give 100% unlike our lot of tempremental brats.

I don't think we will drop as a new manager will come in shake things up and get more out of these clowns, but agree with greenstreet that the sides down the bottom seem capable of picking up points at any given time.

Re: Spunk brothers expectations
Trouble is this season there are very few teams worse than us (we are currently the worst), something which has helped us a lot in the past.
Everyone down the bottom seems pretty organised, playing for their managers, showing passion, energy and fight. We are lacking just about everywhere at the moment.
